Build-a-Mon is an unofficial, fan-made browser game. It is free, has no ads, sells nothing, and does not track you. It exists because building weird Pokémon is fun.

It is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored, or approved by Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures Inc., or The Pokémon Company. Pokémon, Pokémon character names, sprites, and all related trademarks and copyrights belong to Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK inc., and The Pokémon Company. All rights reserved by their respective owners. No copyright or trademark infringement is intended.

Base stats and typings come from the open PokeAPI dataset. Sprites are loaded from the PokeAPI sprite repository and are not hosted here.

Gym leaders, the Champion, and the League in this game are original characters made up for this fan game.

Your Hall of Fame is saved only in this browser. The site keeps an anonymous daily count of how many builds and runs are started and finished, with no cookies and nothing about who played. Trainer accounts are optional. You sign in with a link sent to your email, or with Google, Discord or X. The site does not keep your email address: only a scrambled fingerprint of it, so it knows you next time (the link itself is sent through Resend, an email service). With Google, Discord or X it keeps only your account number there: it never asks for your email address, real name or picture. The trainer name you pick and your game results (builds, runs, stats and paused journeys) are stored so they can appear on your trainer page and the leaderboards, and a Champion run is also announced in the game's Discord server. A build you put in the Arena, with its record, is public too. If you connect your Discord there, the site keeps your Discord account number with your trainer until you disconnect. None of it is used for ads or tracking. Under 13? Ask a parent or guardian first, or just play as a guest.
